I think the pickups were available from 64-69 and the vans carried on until the early seventies.

Scott,

It's been hectic around here with my son starting HS football and still doing Boy Scouts. He's finally got eveything needed for Star rank, but I just need to let it go about how long it's been taking him....

Actually, I've never really thought about A100s until I spotted one in the area a couple of months ago. This was my first question about them.

What kind of rust problems do they have compared to the Sweptlines?

Shane---
It's ironic that you should ask "A100 rust problems compared to swepts"?
They both tend to rust the worst in the same location...the stepwell/rocker area! As well as the lower corner of the doors.
Warning ! Once you get an A100 ,you'll never be able to live without 1,They are a blast to drive, even with a 6.
A100's like most vehicles , get funner the faster they go...only more-so. I had 1 that had a big block shoehorned into it, sitting in front of the front axle looking thru a windshield with nothing in front of it ,is a real strange sensation...espically when your sideways!

The A-100 van/pickup was built from 1964-1970. They came in Pickup, Van, Sportsman wagon, and Custom Sportsman wagon form. In 1965 the LA273 was made available making them the most powerful compact truck on the market. In 1967 the 273 was dropped in favor of an LA318 and also they offered a 108" wheelbase version appropriately named the A-108. A-108 and A-100 could be had with a 5400 GVW giving the trucks a little over a ton of payload capacity! Funny thing though is there were never badged as "heavy duty" or A-200 or A-300. Production ended in 1970 to make room for the B-vans which started production in 1971. However, I've heard from a source that the Navy had some A-100 pickups that were registered as 1971 models.
