late model la swap
hey guys needs some help, my 68 had no motor and trans when i bought. ive got a donor 318/727 out of an 84 w250. ive got new rubber mounts for the 68 but it seems both the block mounts need to be longer? if i mount one or the other the motor is off center in the frame. the 68 originally had a 318. any ideas? lengthen both the block mounts? it almost looks like it would drop right in if i moved the holes in the block mounts up. the chassis mounts are the same as well as the block mounts. just need to know how long they need to go, if its a straight out or if they need to be offset?

What block engine mounts are you using. The 84 ones. Not sure what if any height/length difference the 84 to 68 ones have. Post a picture with measurements. The 68 isolaters are different for sure.

thats perfect they both look to be longer than mine. looks like ill be fabricating some. can you get me a measurement from the bolt hole on the block to the base of the bracket where the mount sits?
do these trucks require front sump oil pans??

Re: late model la swap
As long as the sump clears the front suspension it probably doesn't matter. It was designed to be a truck and with that in mind a front sump pan. Racing and crawling apps might change the decision making paradigm.
