:welcome That is a pretty decent 68 D100 you picked up! I also have a 68 Shortbed. Congratulations on that nice find. How are the floors? They are usually rusted out along with the rockers. All normal rust areas! Have FUN!! :salut

Thanks Jim! It just has a tiny bit of rust along the top of the passenger side rocker, just where the lip for the mat is. There's not even a single dent in the bed floor! Exceptionally clean truck, especially for a rust prone Dodge...

I've seen your truck on Instagram. Looks like a great truck. What wheels are on it ? 5 lug split rims?

Yah they're 15x5 splits. I got some 15x7 steelies off a Fifth Avenue I'm gonna throw on it, just gotta figure out what size tires to run. Thinking maybe a 235/70...

Good lookin' truck!

What size tires are those? Looks like they fit really well.

They're old bias plies, I think 8.20s but not 100% sure. I try not to stare too closely at the split rims, I heard they have a nasty bite!

That is a good look'n truck. I'm currently running P215 75R 15's on mine, their 26" tall. The 235's are 28" tall.

I love the red with black top color combo. I too have a 68' short bed. The 235/75-15 that I run all around the truck look good. And the speedometer is spot on with all the traffic cameras I pass. I would like about 2 inches more width in the back thou. Here is a pic of me and you can see the front looks good in the wheel opening but the rear is small/narrow looking. When you clean up the engine bay of your 68' post some pictures since someday I want to change my 318 for a 383.

Talk at you later,
Jimharold

I'll try to get some decent pics of the engine soon, just been trying to get everything working first before making it look good! I agree with you on the rear wheel/tire width, stock these trucks definitely look like they skipped leg day!

That is probably what size I'll go with, at least on the rears.

It should scoot down the road just fine! Still debating whether I should swap on a 4 barrel setup off a Roadrunner...

Uh, yeah, I'd do the 4bbl swap for sure!!! Jim, that's a rare car indeed. I guess I am somewhat partial to Roadrunners. One of my favorite cartoons when I was a kid, and my first bicycle was called a Roadrunner!!! Awesome car!!!!
This was what my Roadrunner bike looked like. This is not mine, but is exactly what mine looked like. Orange with black pinstripes on the fenders, white banana seat and white rims and grips. Iverson Roadrunner. They say that George Barris helped design these bikes.
