Reverse lights not working
Hey there,
Have a 71 Dodge D100. When purchased it had the 3 on the tree removed and a 3 speed on the floor put in. I fixed the speedometer not working issue, but don't have reverse lights. Is there something "buried" in the steering column that needs to be jury rigged - or? Thanks in advance.

Re: Reverse lights not working
The reverse light switch is usually on the transmission, not the column.

Right. So I need to find those reverse wires and wire them to the reverse switch on the new trans?

Re: Reverse lights not working
Yes. And its possible that the previous owner removed those wires or just didn't plug them back in. I'm assuming only the shifter was changed & the truck still has same transmission, correct?

Re: Reverse lights not working
It's the 2 outer wires on the neutral safety switch. One has 12 volts+, the other goes to tye backup lights. The center wire is the neutral safety.

My guess would be starter relay, ground wireCaliswept wrote:where does the center one go connected if u trace it back to the wiring harness?
Re: Reverse lights not working
I think a good question to ask is will it start in gear?
