What needs to be done to a 170 c.i to increase to a 198 or 225 c.i. ?

Agree, /6's are just too cheap. Find a 225 and replace.

Find a 225 and go through it /modify if needed and change out the little SL6.

The block is shorter on the 170 so it is stroke not bore.
