what years will the body parts interchange for a d100. i need a new hood and bumper for my 70 model, but the bone yard only has one d100 and i think it is an early 60s. im not real familiar with these trucks, i just bought my first sweptline last week, but the only thing that looks real different is the hood, and even it looks like it would fit.

Yeah, as far as looks it's a 69-71, but any year 61-71 should fit. In fact, from the cab forward should be interchangable; cab, doors, fenders, rad support+grille+headlights. As far as beds, I think 61-65.5 have different lengths than 65.5-71. And I know the tailgates are different. :Thumbsup :welcome

69 to 71 are direct swaps on most things.
There will be differaces in earler years,
just depends on what you what to do or go...
Doors > compleat 68 to 71 (67 has diff inside)
61 to 66
Hood 69 to 71, 68 one year, 61 to 67
also:
there are trim diff on hole placement
if hood had trim or was trim delete..
Fender front> all the same stamp but will
have diffeant holes for trim/lights

What exactly was different?

I thought the hood for 68 was the same as the previous years.

the 68 hood will fit on the 69-71 , but not back aye years with out some cutting , the top look's like the older's ones but has the stright edge across the front lip like the 69-71 , not bent up for the single head light pie plate style

Yeah thats true. You can put it on earlier years but it doesn't fit right as you can see by the photo of my '64 with a '68 hood. Hey Dave, the orange van in the background has a good small block 727 in it. You still need'n one? Let me know.

67 doors come in 2 types, one just the same as
all early years with the pull handles frig handles
(granted you will not see many, but they are out there)....
the other 67 has the pushbutton outside
handle (and will swap right in to the 68 to
71) but the inside will have the older type
pull door handle and steel cover.

Looks the same till you try to put it on a 67,
because of the cutouts for the headlight are not
there, their strait across on the bottem front
edge instead of having a rised piece on each side
for the headlight doors (i.e. 4 HT panel 61 to 65.5, pie pan 65.5 to 67)

so, as far as functionality, the mid 60s hood should bolt up and work with a 70 model front end? the grill on the truck i am talking about looks nothing like the grill pictured on the snow covered truck above, it looks almost identical to the grill on my 70. any ideas as to what year it might be? and thanks for the input, you guys have been great around here!

cheepshot, If the Tsignals are just inside of the headlight's & run frim top to bottom it's a 68-69 grill , 70-71 grille's look different , the T signels are just inside the headlight's & to the bottom , with plactic insert's , go to the pic' section & look under scott& R/T trade those are the 70-71 grille's
