Stepside bed(long) for 1969 D100

Post by DB69 »

I have a 69 D100 I recently bought with a contractor bed on it, and I would like to swap out the contractor bed and replace it with a stepside bed. I was wondering from what year to what year stepside will fit on this truck with no modification? while it is not a museum piece, I want to take it to a few Mopar/Chrysler product dealer shows, drive it some, and have a bunch of fun with it.

Disregard my previous post.... I read your wanted ad.... 8ft Utiline bed.
Eight foot beds from '65 1/2 up through the early 80's will fit. Early '65
and older long beds were designed for 122" wheelbase and won't fit
properly. If you find a Utiline bed without steps, be cautious as there are
4 different sizes... 6', 7.5', 8' & 9'. Good luck to ya.... these 8' Utiline beds
are getting difficult to locate. [Where are you located???]. The correct
tailgate is un-stamped for your truck although any Sweptline year will fit.

Hobcobble, I am in Michigan City, Indiana. This truck was owned by the city of Kokomo In for 33 years(I am only the third registered owner of it)
and still has less than 13,000 miles on it. I thought the stepside bed would let me have the "old" truck look, and since I'm not gonna haul anything in it, it would make it a cool ride(better than the utility or contractor's bed in it now.I figured it may not be easy to find a decent bed for it, but thought I would give it a try. By the way thanks for the help and the info I appreciate both!
