Custom? Sweptline Special?

Post by HellBelly »

Guys is there anyway to identify if my new 69 D100 is a Sweptline Special or Custom? All the badges are gone and the holes are covered over? Can't tell if they were mirror holes or where the custom badge was.

Does the VIN state this info?

VIN # 1187105866

As I have what I believe is one, this is going to seem a bit stupid, but... the sweptline specials were the plain jane models... /6 only (except mine)... no AC, no options. Unless it was a special order from Dodge (like mine). As far as the custom deal goes, if it has the chrome drip rail trim, the big headliner, the AC, etc, it's a fairly safe bet it was a custom. The only way I know of to know for sure would be to take off the door panel and look at the spot just under the vent window where the custom tag would have gone to see if its been filled or covered... they were on that small flat vertical space below the vent. Other than that, I can't help you much.
Thanks, Clint

my little book at home says that the small /6 was the std plant, but the larger 6 was optional. It didn't mention a standard rear ratio, but that doesn't mean there wasn't one.
Thanks, Clint

clint yes they did put a standerd rear ratio in the special , It was for a work truck only purpes(sp) the 170 3 spd & I think the 391 rears , heater was standerd every thing was extra , the 225/6 radio & or a diff rear gear set , you had to order them the special was a very low buck work truck
