Door Stay?

Post by 67step100 »

Did the doors ever come with door stays? I'm not seeing a slot where they are typically situated but maybe they are set into the hinges? I just don't like the door swinging freely when I open it. Mine is a '67 D100.

It would be nice if there was something that held it open as well as prevented it from being reefed against the hinges should the wind catch it or something.

My late year 65 doesn’t have any. Interestingly enough my 60 pick up does have them.

Swepts never had anything of the sort from the factory.

It would be easy enough to fab up a pair of them, or use a set off an A100 van or pickup.

The sweptline hinge is pretty stout and the hinge arm length insertion depth into the door is pretty long. As such, I wouldn't think you would need anything additional and I haven't encountered or heard of any issues in that regard.
