383 vs 360 la

Post by Jim100 »

Did a 1970 come from the factory with everything the same (gears, trans) except one with a 360 and another with 383? Or were big block trucks only 200's or camper specials or somthing?
For anyone with experience is there a very noticeable difference between 360 and 383? I have never driven one or even seen one in person.
Thanks.

The 360 was not an engine option for the Sweptline in 1971.The Mopar 360 is a small block,383 big block. :Thumbsup

Replace 360 with 318 in post. Just trying to get a feel for the difference between the small and big block.
Thanks.

My 1968 D100 LWB Adventure came with a 383/727/3:55 sure grip. It had an aftermarket Edelbrock 600 cfm 4 barrel/Edelbrock Performer intake, dual exhaust. Ran like a scalded ape. Much better power than the 318 in my '67 d100. I've never had the externally balance 360 in a Swepty, but many have.
