Headers 1969 W200 318

Post by cometphoton »

Can anyone help me pick headers for my 69 W200, 318, I understand I will need short headers as the fit on the starter side is tight.
I found these
Summit Headers
Summit Headers
Anyone have experience with this send me comments and most of all: Thanks for the time

Personally I wouldn't spend the money and effort for block hugger style headers as they just don't provide much of a performance increase. There must be several brands and applications of full-length headers that will fit in spite of the starter. As well, there are several starters available at reasonable cost that could create the space you need.

Study on Hedman headers. I had a set of the long tube on a W truck and a D truck with normal starters and no real issue. Maybe they don't make them anymore.

I got my long tubes from Stan's Headers in Washington, made to fit specifically for Swepty Polys with zero clearance issues, I don't know if he's still around but might be worth looking into.

Word to the wise, I've been waiting on ceramic coated headers from Headman since I believe Oct. 2021 for my D150. However Summits website shows the plain ones are in stock.
