Clutch n Brake spacers?

Post by ScrooLoose »

Hello All.
Just waiting on my shop to heat up and thought I ask a quick curious question.
Dose anyone know why the spacer washers on the clutch/brake pivot shaft
have a hexagonal hole in the center? (See Attached) And why not just a round hole? The only
thing I can think of is maybe to let lube travel thru better. I have asked some of my
wrench buddy's and no ideas. It is not important just one of those things that runs
thru my idle thoughts.
Thanx.
SL.

My bet would be that they are washers that they had in stock. It's a hardened washer that I have seen many times on the countershaft of standard transmissions. In that instance, the hexagonal hole allows oil in. They used what was available.
