Ballast Resistor

Post by homeboymi »

Was driving down the road in traffic and made a right hand turn. Threw the shift lever up into second and pressed the accelerator. My engine was completely shut off. I coasted over to the side and within minutes a fellow stopped and helped me troubleshoot. I wasn't getting any spark. Then another fellow with a big Dodge dully came along with a trailer with winch and towed me home. He said he was a Mopar guy with several old cars at home. He said I probably needed a ballast resistor. Bought one for $4.99 and put it on this morning. The truck started right up. I can't believe how blessed I was. No one would have stopped if I was driving a new truck. We hobbyists stick together.

Just wanted to post this so others will have a heads up about ballast resistors.
