Clutch master cylinder and slave clutch

Post by Coats »

I’m replacing the clutch master cylinder on my 67 d100. Does anyone have any advice? I’ve heard that I need to bleed them but not sure the correct procedure and do I bleed it from the slave clutch or both clutch master cylinder and slave clutch after installed? Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Bleed them both to be safe. I have a 66 w100 and just did that a while back.

Originally developed for the military, Dot 5 silicone brake fluid doesn't corrode your cylinders, it doesn't eat paint, it doesn't absorb water, it doesn't cause rust, it doesn't require annual changing. It does requre purging an existing system with denatured alcohol before adding it.

Thanks. It’s on and I believe it’s working. I’ve hit another problem and will be posting soon.

Clutch hydraulic system gravity bleeds quite easily. That's how I do it alone.
