1966 W300 VIN

Where is the VIN stamped on the frame?
It is not above the front axle on the passenger side like I have seen on a 1968 W300.
Is it the number on the little plate riveted above the data plate?

yes and yes.

The stamped number on the frame can be hard to see. Its usually between the front spring perch and the bumper bracket.
