Front axle question

Post by fireguyfire »

Are the front beam axles on these trucks “sided” or are they reversible?
Wondering if I need to mark it somehow before I sandblast and paint it or if it doesn’t matter which way it goes back

Is there any caster built into the pad where they meet the spring or any angle to the king pin holes?

It may be just me, but the axles don't appear 'straight' and have a direction to them like this []-v-[] ... but I would use a chisel to mark the direction if you are concerned.

I have to look again, but I think there is a spindle stop cast in the back side of where the kingpin is......
