My radiator sprung a leak near the outlet tube. I could have it fixed, but wanted to see what others have used as replacement radiators for a 68 D200 with the 318 motor. I'm having a little bit of difficulty finding replacements.

if it's only a small leak and the thing is cooling ok
i think it's definitely worth keeping the original and getting it fixed up
i had mine repaired locally when i got the truck going three or so years ago and it's been holding up beautifully
and i love seeing the brass tank and that mopar pentagon everytime i open the hood !

Take it to a local radiator shop. Have them braze the leak, and rod out the core and your like new again!

I have a '68 but with slant6. I got one out of the wrecking yard from a '79 truck with the same engine and tranny as mine. Had to trim about a 1/4 to 1/2 inch off each side of the radiator and install it on the opposite side of the core support. Also had to put a 1/2 inch spacer between the radiator and core support to get it far enough away from fan so it would not hit. Also had to use longer bolts. Works just fine.

FYI, in case anyone finds this thread in the future, I finished my radiator swap (1968 D200 318 LA with manual trans) using the following parts:

--Champion Radiators CC1640 (http://www.championradiators.com/product/CC1640). Had to drill two lower radiator mount holes, but it was no big deal.

--Allstar Performance ALL30208 upper radiator hose. Need longer one since the inlet is farther toward the passenger side. Note that I may end up replacing this with either a longer hose or a thermostat housing that has the outlet pointed toward the passenger side since this hose ALMOST too short. I'm a little worried about it getting kinked in the future, but I may be needlessly worrying.

--Continental Elite (has Goodyear sticker on it) 60817 lower radiator hose. The outlet of the new radiator is 1.75" instead of the 1.5" stock radiator outlet. This hose is a molded one that fits perfect. You could also just use a universal hose (like Dayco 81261) but I like the molded hose cause it looks a little more stock.

--Two 1/8"-27 NPT plugs I got from Home Depot. These were to plug to auto trans cooler lines in the radiator since I have a manual.

Overall it was an easy install, hardest part was finding the correct hoses.

I need one for my truck. It was a factory a/c truck and I plan to fix the a/c.

Two questions.

1. The link says 70 and up. Is that gonna be an issue or will this bolt it?

2. Will it be enough cooling for my truck when my a/c is repaired?

It is a 26 inch core and a 3 row. That is the biggest radiator that came in a sweptline. It will cool an ac truck. As for bolting in, you may have to adjust a hole or 2, but it will come closer to fitting than the aluminum ones will.
