Radio Interference

Post by rkcrump »

I installed a 1967 Dodge radio in my 1969 Dodge Truck. Has Mopar Suspression spark plug wires and the spark plugs are RN14YC for the 318 engine. Radio works fine when engine is not running. When running I hear a clicking noise that sounds like the spark plugs are firing. I do not have a winding noise so I do not think the problem is the alternator, but it could be.

Original radios of that era had a few noise suppression capacitors added to wiring. I have a wiring diagram for the 68 and older radios. If you want a copy PM me your e mail address for a copy of scan.
My truck is younger than me.
