swap out slant 6 for V8 67 D100
I recently got a 67 D100. I need to say right up front that it is a stepside rather than a sweptline. if I have sinned let me know right now and I will go away. I have been seeking information and this seems to be the place to get it. the truck is a 31 thousand mile gem. unbelievable condition. slant 6 three on the tree 3.91 axle. it is almost to nice to change. but what can I say, I need a V8 rumble. what I would like to do is swap in a V8 with bolt in parts. i would love to drop a 440 and 833 four speed under the hood. i wasn't going to start this project for a while but would like to find any required parts. any information would be appreciated. one more question. are the front leaf springs up to a RB? thanks in advance

There is a member that swapped an 833 I to his 68. Try searching for 833 or A833 up top....

the pictures don't do this truck justice. the frost blurs it some what. the paint is outstanding. it is going into my shop one of these days and I will get better photos. it blows me away how this truck has survived. especially being a farm truck. the paint is still on the wood in the bed. it has zero modifications. original spare tire. interior is exactly as is was when it left the factory. there is only 2 bad things about it, it is the 8 ft box and it don't have a V8. had it been a shorty it would have been out of my price range. as it was I paid twice what my original max was. you only live once is what I told myself.

Nice looking truck. Some years ago, I came across a
relatively decent [for my region] early '65 long wheel base D100 with the Slant
6 and A745 with 3.91 gears. Instead of hacking it up, I switched to a NP435
4spd. The Slant 6 was replaced with a good running '68 LA318 and the 3.91
chunk was replaced with a 2.94 chunk. I threw on a 2.25" dual exhaust with
Flowmasters and ran it clear to the bumper. Personally, I like the long wheel
base Utilines better. Have fun with your Utiline!

had a visit with powerwagon 54. decided to go with a LA swap. he set me up with a flywheel engine mounts and a few other pieces. his prices are decent as are his shipping rates. a good guy to give it straight. thanks
