Replacing stock axles with newer

Post by WEYost2069 »

Hi, found a deal on a 77 Chevy Crewcab long bed 3/4 Ton truck frame. SRW 4X4 GM 14 bolt rear axle. 8X6.5 Lug pattern, rolling chasis. Was wondering if this would be an easy swap into my 1970 Dodge W200. This would give me power steering and disc brakes up front.

77 GM 4x4 trucks of that vintage use Pass side drop like Dodge.
My truck is younger than me.

Correct, GMC and Dodge are passenger drop.
This chasis has the steering column, brake booster, power steering unit, drive shafts.
How difficult or easy would this be?
