Apparently 361/413/383 bells are all the same
In the daylight was able to verify in my stash that hydro bell with casting number 93961 is bolted to and fits 361/383/413/440, regardless of the extended flange 8 bolt crank. Don't have a 400, but assume it would be the same.

Sorry I was thinking RB. Yes that was most commonly found on the early 383's. Used '62 - '66 (maybe '67). Not super common these days, but they also aren't much sought after by the hi-po market.

400 is the same. Mate to block is no problem, flywheel and or crank could be? I only have the 361 / 413 8 blot flywheels for comparison....

There is a long thread about this bell on powerwagonadvertiser forum a few yrs ago. Though the bell works with both 6 and 8 bolt cranks, the flywheel apparently adjusts for the different setbacks, as best I could decipher the thread.
Tnx hitparader for clarity on the intake.
Tnx everybody for discussion and insight on the bell.

Nice thread on B/Block bells!

I got a 413ci motor with the longer 8 bolt crank.
Same bell numbers and the '8-bolt' flywheel does the 'spacing' for you!
13 inch clutch which is a 'monster' compared to the car ones...

Only problem is the crank isn't drilled for the spigot shaft, boohoo...

Oh well, can't have everything in life. :banghead

on the intake I think i read on this forum a while back that the 361/413 truck intakes are water heated and the light duty truck and car b and rb are exhaust heated. if there is a 361 water heated 4 barrel manifold out here I might be interested

I may be mistaken but I don't think the truck 361 was ever offered with a 4 barrel intake. Possibly in Marine applications, but haven't run across much information there.

I thought so too but then saw a medium truck junkyard advertising a 70s 361 with 4 barrel in a medium duty truck. that engine was very popular so maybe became an option in later years? I dont have any 70s manuals to check

It’s quite possible that someone fitted a 4 barrel manifold from another b block on a 361 and that is what they are selling. The 70s were a long time ago, there have probably been n many sets of hands on that engine since it was built by dodge.

My 70's manuals don't show a 4V 361. Not saying they don't exist nor am I certain a passenger car B block 4V intake would or wouldn't fit.

the stock truck manifolds have a water line the comes from the water pump to a port where on the car manifolds you might see the choke coil spring. the trucks are water heated and the cars are exhaust heated. I would like to keep the truck type set up. I think water runs through the cross over on the truck heads as well

I guess I can just run an adapter or tap a car manifold for the water line

My 1960 DeSoto FireFlight had a 361, but I don't recall if it was 2V or 4V.

Here is a thread about marine 361 motors. The OP had mistaken them for 383's.
