Need help, loose doors

Post by HAIRYBIKINI »

I've been working on my doors and windows, and have noticed there is a lot of play in the door. How do I tighten them up?

Assuming all your bolts are good and tight if you open the door slightly and can pick it up a bit your door pins may be shot. I'm not sure if anyone has found a pin that's conpatable with our trucks but when it comes time to address mine I was thinking some type of brass bushing for the pin to sit in that could be replaced when need be. Not sure if that helps. Make sure the bolts inside the door itself are tight too
Hand me my hat. Excuse me man, where's the door

There isn't any play vertically, even when lifting up on the door, just some play in e door when it's shut.

No weatherstripping = loose doors. Strike plates are adjustable.

What kit did you install? I did the cheap ones through rockauto. They didn't have the exact form of the door, more of a universal rubber. The door fits tight, to tight, now my doors are a pain to open. I've tried adjusting the strike plates with no luck.

I ordered the kit from easy--street. It has the top corner above the corner glass as the only preformed corner, everything else seems generic. The fit is perfect, but once installed my door got stuck. I removed the latch to discover one of the mechanism latches had broken, and had to weld one of the loop latch. Now I have to push on the door a bit for it to open. I'm guessing it's the reworked latch, and not the weatherstripping, but I'm also fine with it (anti-theft) lol.

I have to push really hard to open mine. I can also see daylight at that corner thats not preformed. Mine is so tight I busted my inside door handle :banghead
