Are u trying to save the gasket? If not, cut it. If so, good luck!

Re: Windshield removal
Pull the lock strip first. Get a helper so you don't break it. Sucks to get back in.

Re: Windshield removal
the gasket is toast so i'll have to replace it. i tried cutting it with a knife but that didn't work. I was wondering if there was a trick to this that i wasn't figuring out.

Re: Windshield removal
When I did mine just used a utility/razor knife and cut through the gasket after I removed the lock strip. Basically cut off the outer lip that holds the glass in. I used a plastic kitchen spatula to get under the glass to get it to start getting unsealed from the original gasket. Not a real tough process just take your time. Getting it in is more of a challange. Used a little bit of nylon cord, plastic spatulas, and soapy water for that on a very sunny day. Did someone use sealant on your gasket before or something?

Cutting out the windshield is easy. Make sure you pull out the lock strip FIRST. Have a look at the pics. Just cut off the part shown, and then you will see the edge of the glass. Spray some glass cleaner around the edges to make it 'slippery'. CAREFULLY push it out from the inside of the truck. Pretty much what 40yearoldFury said

Re: Windshield removal
Sometimes the gasket is so hard and brittle that the lockstrip comes out in short chunks. If the glass is glued to the gasket with a sealer, or silicone, it can be difficult to get it free. Using a 1" flexible putty knife with the end and/or edge sharpened like a knife can help immensely. What really sucks is the little snap sound u hear when the glass cracks in the center!
