Front bumper on a 68-71?

Post by cudajimmy »

Is it different than on an earlier swept? I was thinking so, but need to know for sure. I know I'm very uneducated when it comes to swepts, but if you guys ever need to know about A or E bodies or early Vettes or Indians, let me know!

The 68 bumper is different than the 70-71 I know for sure! Although, I am not sure why it wouldn't bolt on provided you had the brackets too. The bottom of the support is the same where the valance is. I can check my frames if you want to see if there are holes in the same place... as I have those 70 parts trucks yet.

Speaking of Indians.... I am looking for a rolling basket 41 Chief. My Dad had one when he was younger. Last of the leaf spring and full skirts. :Thumbsup Got anything?

Jims68, I know where there is a full dress 1950 with an 80 inch flathead that's been garaged since the mid-60s... Has about 4 inches of dust on it. Full skirts, fringed seat and bags, windshield, spotlights, wide whitewall tires, rear fender mounted luggage rack... It is in a collection of about 20 vintage bikes, Indian, HD, BSA, Hodaka, Honda, all kinds of neat old bikes. Might even be an old Bimmer or 2 in there... All are low miles, non-restored, original bikes. Roughly 200K value once they get baths. Should be going on the market this summer or fall.

Jimmy if you ever make it back to lawton you can compare as my 67-68s have their orginal bumpers and the '71 short bed is different. I do have a spare off the '71 parts truck.

Sounds like a great collection.... however, it sounds like this will go on auction... and you know how those can go $$
