Fuel Capacity 59 D100?

Post by JohnBrayton »

Hi Guys,

Getting ready to install a chemical liner in the 59 D100's fuel tank. Does anyone know the gallon capacity of the 59 tank? I have enough liner for a 20 gallon tank and want to be sure it's enough.

Thanks,
John

I don't know for certain, but '61-'68 trucks only had 16 gallon tanks (as a general rule), so I'm thinking you'll be okay.

Actually, as a general rule they are 18 gal. 16's are quite scarce. Bigger tanks were never offered until 69.

You could check with Ron Reichert over on Gordon's
site. He is in the business of restoring Power Giant era
trucks.

Thanks for the help. It was an 18 gallon tank and after all of the repairs still had a small leak. I'm buying a new after market tank with sending unit......will take some modification to make the existing filler spout work.
