VIN plate equip. question
i just picked up a 1971 d100 and I noticed on the VIN plate under equip. it says RAD SUPPR. Any idea what this is? The only thing I can think of with these letters is radiator support.

currently there's no book or website for SERT numbers. SERT is an acronym for Special Equipement Release Truck. i have never seen a SERT that starts with HC - that a new one. maybe visually compare your radiator support with a similar year and model.soopernaut wrote:I got all the information to post. The truck is a 1971 short bed d100. It came with a 318, an A727 and 3.91 rear axle. The special equipment is listed as SERT#: HC9006 and under equip it says RAD SUPPR. Is there a place to look up SERT#s

If it is still open, and the old parts counter guy is still there, the dealership (tiny) in Garfield Washington can decode SERTS. Or use to. I bought brand new factory L6 parts from him in 1994, for a 1948 engine. Every piece of factory reference literature they ever got was put in computer or microfische form. They had new in the box parts back to 1926 as well...

I think you found the first vehicle to be made equipped with Radar Suppressive paint... stealth technology in a Dodge, why am I not suprised. I wonder if it's like the new stealth fighter planes with the radar cross section of a butterfly... hmm. How fast does that truck go again??
Thanks, Clint
