Does anybody know who is making these for VPW??? They are kinda pricey and was trying to save some money on repairing my old crewcab, they are $175 ea in their catalog, i need them and the floor pan replacemnts as well, the floorboard replacements are actually cheaper at VPW right now, guess the maker has had to raise prices or something, anybody got a clue?? Thanks!! :banghead

If VPW had ever produced anything new that was needed like w 100 200 300 wiring harness's, cab mounts, turn signal parts, horn parts, rubber and window regulator door parts, or even a catalog dedicated only to sweptlines and had there own website with a list of every used w100 200 300 parts truck they had and a price list for the parts on it i would be a loyal diehard fan. Facts are they have nothing, power steering kit is nonexistant, they :shame have no new wiring harness, no price list for used body parts, and asked me $1800 for a 12 bolt 3500# dana 44 plus shipping. Ask them to post a digital picture some time, no can do either, My theory is buy it where it is made and save paying for shipping twice from VPW, they will run your card and leave ya hanging while the stuff is backordered. They do not even have a ebay store or a web forum like this for there customers for gosh's sake, why reward poor customer service??? Ever call up and ask for a front end part, sorry it is too wet for the forklift to get back there, can u call back in a month>>> lmao not this dodger!!! Now they are into m715 jeep parts I see, expect nothing for w1002003000 restoration from VPW and that way you will not be disapointed. I know I know, it is just the way dodge parts suppliers are and I should be thankful, well I am not happy about the Sanford and Sons atttude, they should do better!!! IMHO

Well..... sorry to hear that VPW isn't up to snuff
and able to cater to all of your needs. Why don't
you consider what they contribute to the Power Wagon
community as a whole....both the flat fender and the
civilian model. Suffice it to say that they can't be
everything to everybody. What other operation has
gone to the lengths they have?..... stamping fenders,
rockers, floorboards, .... and the list goes on. VPW
started with flat fender PW's and are not yet hitting
their stride with civilian parts.... give them time.
Why don't you look at it this way..... YOU see a need
for a part.... you approach a mfg. plant and set up a
plan for production [takes months.....] .... you earn
distributorship rights.... you market the part....you
carry inventory and then people attempt to make an
end run around you to go "striaght to the cow". I
would venture to say that IF you located the factory
that stamps these parts, they'd steer you back to
VPW. The company I've worked for for most of two
decades began as a manufacturer and is now a full
line distributor so I have a bit of experience from
both sides. You want something less expensive?...
try Mill Supply... they might help. VPW's floorboard
is great quality.... seen them in person. :Thumbsup

As Cowboy pointed out.... VPW's shortcoming is
sometimes with customer service. I purchased a
set of rockers a few years back.... it took me
two phone calls.... the first guy wasn't a lot
of help.... the second guy knew his stuff. If
you look elsewhare for the floorboards, check
the area where the front cab mount bolt goes to
see if there is the correct indent... some places
do not stamp this.... so additional work may be
required. Another possibility is Sherman&Associates.
They furnish replacement panels. I'm not sure if
they have a web site..... they're up in Michigan.

Don't get me wrong.... the more sources to choose
from.... the better. I just don't agree with
negating VPW's efforts.... plain & simple.

John , your right , just as norm was in his post , but if your going to sell anything you must have the right person for the job , I tried more then once to get info from them & to no avail , I know it takes a lot time & money to set up , like they did but if you go through all the trouble to do it , don't slack on the most importent part , like your sales dept, I also know that people have a bad day for some reason or another , but every time I tried to contac them it's the same , if I want to put up with that , I just call my X wife & ask her about our son whos 34 now & they seem to upset with each other most of the time , I have heard a lot of people say good things about vpw , thats why I tried them first , but after a few ph calls & a lot of email's I get the same nothing , so I went else where :Thumbsup

Sounds like you gave them more than their fair share
of opportunities to make you a satisfied customer
Cowboy..... after all of that, I would've hung it up
too. Its a shame too.... all the fore-thought, leg
work and planning that goes into stamping parts like
they have.... just to have some lame-brain dink at
the sales counter louse it all up. Maybe a letter to
the owner explaining the hassles you went through
only to be disappointed in the end is a possibility.
That could be beneficial to you, VPW and a lot of
potential customers :Thumbsup :Thumbsup

Hey 68CrewCab,
I haven't bought from them directly BUT, some time
ago, I bought 2 rocker panels and a left side floor
pan from a fellow sweptline owner out in Reno, NV. He
didn't need the parts and I got them for a good deal.
The floor pan looks just like the pic in the link.
I'm sure the pan will work, when I get around to that
truck project but there will a need for a bit of
"coaxing". VPW's pans come with the "recessed" area
around the front cab mount bolt hole. If you don't
mind doing a bit of tinning.... and the price is
right.... you may give them a try. You can also
consult Mark DuVerger @ http://www.marksmopars.net . He did
some real nice floor pan replacements in his '69
D100. His site has pics showing his work and he also
has a forum to post questions.

Hey MoPar Scott.... sucking it up doesn't mean a guy
has to suck sh*t from an incompetant sales person.
That's what part of this thread was devoted to. The
other portion of the thread, at least from me, was
pointing out the downside of trying to go around
VPW to get to their parts fabricator. Like you, I
too have purchased from VPW. Fortunately, I didn't
have a crappy experience like Cowboy did. All things
being equal.... who would you plunk your money down
on the counter for?.... a knowlewdgeable helpful
salesman or some puddin-head who doesn't give two
sh*ts???

68crew,
I like those pans.I like how they go up onto the firewall and under the seat.Since one of my trucks has rust in both of these places, I think those pans would make a easier and longer lasting repair. They look longer than the VPW ones.Tell us more. :thinking
