Post by 383mrollg »

the grommet that holds the air cleaner to the valve cover ( not the pcv one...the other one is what im talking about ) is it supposed to have a hole in it or is it supposed to be sealed... my truck is a 70 with a 383 if that matters.. thanks

Hmmm... :thinking ... The non-pcv grommet is a
doughnut type grommet that allows the breather
cap to snap into it. There would be a hose from
this breather to your air cleaner... is this what
you are referring to?

Yes, it should have a hole in it. Aftermarket valve covers often come with one grommet and one plug. Sounds like you're looking at one with a plug. The local parts store "speed shop" parts section should have a selection of grommets, or you could take a pair of scissors to the plug...
