original decals
My 64 D-100 on the rail in front of the radiator has/had two decals. One is the standard antifreeze notice. The other is located between the edge of the raditor and the battery on the same rail and appeared to be about two inches long. Does anyone know what this decal was? I think it is a warning about battery polarity or jumping the truck with booster cables? Are there any photos or survivors out there that have this decal intact?
thanks

The metal number 7066 "tag" is from what I understand an ID from an employee that had something to do with this part of the assembly. It is NOT a paint code which is what most guys think it is. Also, I know in the early 60s it was common practice for MOPAR to send thier vehicles overseas partially assembled. Then, when they got to where they were going, the assembly was completed. This would allow them to ship more vehicles over at one time if they were "apart". It looks like you have a DUPONT paint code decal too. I don't think that American Sweptlines had those at all. Let me know what year your truck is, plus a closeup of that green tag. I am wondering if your truck was painted here in the US or was it "painted" overseas?
Interesting.
Here is another thing... It would be kind of fun to take an inventory of the metal tag numbers. Compare them to the manufacture date... OR, it would be alot of work...

Yes i think that it is a swedis Dupont paint number, but then mabye not
The number doesent match any swedish number either so i think that it
may be an "builder" specifik color number (number stands in the ANA field).
I know that the color is "firetruck red" =), but then if the truck was paintet
in US before shipped then the color is closley to the orginal red (if that is
red) because i found som orange color in the rocker area when grinding
and allso some white paint on the cowl area and doors, mabye its a "junk
Part build" truck

Sorry Ben, I have never seen one of those stickers on a Sweptline... or anything for that matter.
Dodge Swede, The two reds are called:
Dodge Red and Toreador Red The Dodge red is darker and the Toreador red has a bit of orange to it. Email me if you want a copy of the 68 Dodge truck color chart.
