left and right hand threads for 1970 front drums

Post by duracell »

called a place called arizona auto parts and they told me that dodge had 2 different drums for a short time for the d100 same size just different threads part #2960970 for r and 2960971 for r or l depending on your vin also does this complicate things for me even more if im in the early numbers. just called a dodge dealership and they told me 3004734 and 3004735 am i going to have to get them strait from the drum just to get the right number or what

forget the dealership, trucks too old for them to help. i bought my new studs at napa. gave them the trucks year and details, right or left thread, and they ordered them in for me in 2 days. are your studs pressed to the drum making the hub and drum one piece? mine were, takes a machine shop to put the new ones in right. :Thumbsup

"Ditto" Trey. I did the same. I know a little about AZ auto seeing as i live here. They do not cater to our trucks.

Trey whats with the new avatar? You got a bun in the oven?

no more kids on the way for me yet. just thought the shifting fetus was really funny. my dad used to make jokes to my mom that i wasnt kicking her in the tummy, i was practicing running thru the gears and building up my clutch foot. mom and dad were into bracket racing up to her 6th or 7th month of labor, so i was started young! :Thumbsup
