iginition problems

went to start my truck yesterday,'click' nothing.though it was a bad sullenoid . bought a new one today 'click' nothing.it starts if i do the old wire starting technique, but not with the key what to do???? maybe ill have everyone look at it while were doin' our lil' get together anything helps

may be the relay on the fender, could be key switch,
could be neutral saftey switch....
could also be crud on wire connections on the
starter or realy, bad wire also.

If you jump a hot(+) lead from the battery to the relay
were the the "orange" wire contects the relay is good
if it starts.

Bad Switch> test the "orange" lead that plugs into the
relay with key in "start" if 12v or more switch is
good (have to have someone hold the switch in start
to do test)

If you can start in "N" but not "P" then the shifter
linkage is out of adjustment or bad neutral saftey
switch on trans.

Test neutral safety switch>pull wire that runs to
driver side of trans from relay to safety switch,
pull the wire off relay and ground post on relay, if it starts it
ether the safety switch on trans, or the wire the
plugs into the relay and switch, is bad.
