Post by jarrod1964 »

I was going to use a steering column out of an 83' ramcharger, it has tilt, and the column is loose at the intersection of the upper and lower half, were it tilts, and i was wondering if anybody has ever been able tighten one of these, i know a chevrolet tilt has three screws internally that you can tighten and i was wondering if it might be like that, yes i know that is a mopar column not a chevy, any help will be apreciated,

Actually I think the tilt columns may have been built by Chevy. I'm pretty sure the 78-80 trucks tilt columns were made by GM.

Saginaw tilt columns were used by GM, Chrysler, and AMC from the 70s to ???. There are a few minor diferences between the column, mostly in cosmetics, but they are so similar that you can even interchange the ignition lock cylinder between the three.
