A fellow has a '73 clubcab for sale and told me it had a 400. NOT. Small block, and I haven't checked the numbers yet.
The VIN is D17AJ3S096553 . Who can tell me what engine/trans came when new. Thanx, Steve

Re: Can you decipher VIN numbers?
Well it had a 400 from the factory! Fifth digit "J" is 400 engine.....VIN does not tell transmission type.
