Well it's not Tonto or Sitting Bull. My guess is something from the 1920's-30's when electric starters were replacing hand cranks. Ford model A? :thinking

not model t or model a...

only casting marks are 'B2S' cast into passenger side of block near the front.

'F' cast into the block passenger side rear, and 'P' cast into block drivers side rear.

still some dark green paint remaining in places.

anytime somebody posts and idea, i go looking...

so far nada.

it could be from anything, i guess.

you would think that flange at the front would be a dead givaway, or the cooling passage cast into the head. :thinking

the trees its anchoring should have rooted sufficiently by the end of july, maybe i'll pull the pan and have a closer look then.

its interesting, the oil pan must have a baffle in it because it also forms the lower half of the bell housing.

Late 30's Continental industrial engine from a forklift. See the mounting boss on the top/front of the head for the hydraulic pump? Just kidding! I don't have a clue but I thought I should guess anyway.

For sure it's not a Ford Model A engine. The outlet of the hot water is at the front (top, center) of the cylinder head. There are no mounting bosses at the front of the cylinder head. And at the passenger side is the camshaft, are the valves and a brass or steel cover to cover the valve stems. Good luck while finding more details about this four banger :Thumbsup
