Pros and cons: Auto vrs. Manual trannys

In my experience, if you get a vehicle with an auto tranny stuck in water, the tranny fills with water which is a really bad thing. Don't know about sweptline autos though. I really like the extra control that I have when I drive the stick. As for being to much work using the clutch, when I am feeling lazy, I speed shift anyway..
