383 engine mounting brackets

i have been ask a couple of times about the 383 engine mounts,so i thought id share my personal experiance,i bought a 71 D100 to part out,it had a transplanted 400 in it,but it didnt have 383 mounting brackets on it,it had what i believe to be 318 brackets on it that had been swapped from side to side,and they fit on the rubber mounts!!!,however they really needed a little grinding on the pass side,which this one didnt have, as one part of the bracket set right againt the block,and in the right conditions,MIGHT have caused the block to crack,also on one side the bracket needed a extra hole drilled for a bolt that mounted it to the block,i cant remember for sure,but i think it was the drivers side that only had one bolt holding it on,it seemed like it took a extra effort to get the engine lifted off of the rubber mounts ,like it was a tight fit,so,has anyone else done this,or seen it done,or have any comments about this?
