We took off the molding and clips when stripping the truck awhile back and now want to fill in the holes where the clips were secured and get the truck ready for paint.

Has anyone done this or filled these holes in somehow? I asked a body shop and they mentioned welding the holes. Any other methods been done and worked?

Any advice is appreciated.

Welding is only way to do it correctly, permanently and perfectly.
Better to do it right than to do it twice.
Also, buy the best and only cry once.

Welding is best.

Some have had success using fiberglass, but to me it's less durable & just as tedious.

I'm not a big fan of trim myself.
