1961 Light/Vent/Wiper Knobs

Post by Snowdog »

Good day,

Changing some wiring, and wanting to know how to remove the knobs without damaging them. I know about removing the threaded collar holding the module in place, but not how to safely get that black knob removed. Help?

Set screw in side. Light switch has a hidden button on switch behind dash. Some disconnect cable from heater etc and pull through holding bracket.
Have to figure out removal for each item. :thinking :thinking

Thank you. I couldn't find a set screw, but I'll keep looking.

What knob in particular are you looking for a set screw on.

I was looking on the light knob, but I'll look for the hidden button, too.

There is no set screw on the light knob. It is molded to the shaft that pulls out of the switch after pressing the release button located between the wire connection tabs. Can be a PITA.

I was fooling with it and no luck yet...may just end up doing the wiring with it still attached.

This is the button on the switch you have to push in to release the shaft. Takes a few tries sometimes. :thinking
