Fuel Tank Installation

Post by DraytonCalhoun »

I’ve never been a fan of being in the middle of a huge Molotov cocktail, so, I want to relocate my gas tank. I’ve thought about a Bronco tank mounted in the rear. Has anyone else done/considered this? I like the concept of a 32 gallon fuel supply.

i just bought a 70 mustang gas tank
i guess the sending units are the same ohms so the gage will work
think its a 16 gallon
it fits nice under almost the with of the frame rails
but it will hang a little low
think the only way to go bigger would be to remove the cross rail in the rear
then would have to fab a new cross rail
a little to much work for me
maybe on a 4x4
something to think about

Fortunately, I don’t have to have ‘Critter’ on the road soon, so I may go ahead with the the Bronco tank. I like fabricating, shoot, I’m retired and I don’t have a whole lot else to do, LOL!
