Straightening a bumper

Has anyone had a bumper straightened? Is it worth it to have it done? Im sure this bumper isnt rare or anything, but if its cheaper than getting a new one or a good used one, Ill take it. I got this bumper from a friend who knew I needed one, but its bent pretty good. I can weld the holes up, and fix some of the cosmetic damages. Its twisted and the bolt holes are pulled in. Im thinking it got hooked on something.

Yup, it sure is! Easy to straighten and work on them. Heavy gauge metal pounds out with the BFH, chains/bars/winches straighten bends and twists, welders/grinders fix holes. Pretty damn hard to find them in any condition!

It's got the brackets as well. Shop that chrome plated mine straightened it. If you decide to sell it , you will have a line of takers.

There are still bumper re-chromers out there. I have one in my home town: https://www.northstarplating.com/ They'll just straighten, fill the holes and prep it for paint if you don't want it plated. There may be a shop closer to you, also.

They've been around since I was a child. So they are almost as old as dirt. Back when everything had a chrome bumper, they would have racks of collision damaged bumpers in their yard.

I had my factory style Chrome front and rear bumpers on my 66 W100 professionally straightened and re chromed years ago. They still look like new. Money well spent.

Reviewing North star Plating's online catalog, they list $1145 for a D100 rear bumper. I would assume that is straightened and chromed. You can request an estimate via their web page.

Yep. I had a friend tell me about them. I guess Ill give them a call. I dont want it chromed. Its a white bumper, and it matches the front one...which is also crooked. Thank you.
