FYI, gray inserts in 71, "black" in 70, if it matters.

I had heard about that before, thanks for the confirmation.

The inserts in my 70 grille show signs of argent silver paint, with peeling black paint over that, but someone spray bombed the outer grille down to the bumper black at some point in its past.

Lots can change in over 50 years......

1970 Cuda grilles are similar, cast in grey except for the mid-year AAR Cuda, those were cast in black.
