Fender Identification

Post by 66440 »

I am collecting parts for a future build and am trying to understand which fenders came on D300 - D600
The photo below is what I am looking for, just need to know which years and models they were available on. Also I will be using them on a W300, anyone see any issues using these I might not have considered? Thanks

That fender is used on W500, D600 and larger. It will bolt onto any truck just fine, but the step is different than what is on a W300. The front bumper is also longer to protect the wheel well extensions

I sold a 65 W500 to a guy named Ron Langford in Tom Bean, Tx a couple of years ago. It had those fenders (removed, but he took them). He may be willing to sell them if he already hasn't. One of them was missing the bottom 6" of the flare.

I have seen multiple different fenders on D600's as well as D500's. Just trying to understand the option code or equipment that would dictate exactly which fender the truck was optioned with. Below is the alternative fender style I have seen on 600's and 500's that is different from the one I originally posted. Was it based on the wheel tire package? If so was it a heaver axle rating or just a different spindle to accommodate the larger wheel/tire?

I don't recall ever seeing a D500 with the larger flare like you are seeking. W500( and later W600), yes, but not the D500.

The D600 may have had both offered, I can't say.

There were multiple axle/spring ratings offered as well as Dayton vs Budd style wheels, so that may be what determines which fender.

That fender in the pic above was used on D400 and D500 trucks only. If you saw it on something else it was either a special order or aftermarket install. If it was from the factory otherwise, it is not documented in anything I have ever seen.
