Hood Rattle

Post by homeboymi »

I drive a 68 D100 and the hood rattles at idle. I noticed 4 small rectangular strips on the top near the fender wells. They look pretty worn. Anyone know where to get new ones?

I found them on ebay. They are called hood cushions and come in package of 4. Cost is $11.95. I'm trying to make my truck quiet and comfortable as a Cadillac.

I've made a lot of headway on the rattles. My firewall had a number of holes from previous owners adding things or wiring. I've plugged those with rubber plugs or bolts. That brought the "wind noise" down quite a bit, not to mention eliminating drafts. However, it is still noisy at highway speeds.

Detroit Muscle Technologies specializes in 60s & 70s restoration gaskets, for Mopars and AMCs. Price was $11.95 vs $30 at others.
