Bucket or buddy seat covers

Post by my5thmopar »

Is the buddy seat or buckets from a 71 Adventure the same as the other Sweptlines? Can seat covers be purchased somewhere? I’ve read somewhere that the buckets are the same as early Darts. I know the middle will probably have to be made. Ares the 72-80?? trucks or Lil Red seats the same as 71. I don’t care about originality , just that they fit. Thanks Craig

The buddy seats are the same '68-'71. Not the same as later ones .The buckets used in the CSS package from '64- '67 sweptlines were '64,'66,'67 Dart GT bucket seats. '63 Dodge Polara 500 console was used in the CSS. The buddy seats have a frame for the seats and center section. buddy seats are not the same as Dart buckets. I just finished some '65 Dart seats . ( you have to bolt the Dart buckets to the cab floor, they do not fit in the regular seat brackets) :Thumbsup

Thanks for the information. I guess that means I can’t get covers for the 68-71 or will “something “fit? Craig

Best bet ( if you find a set) is to find a good shop and have them re-covered. I was lucky to find some last year that were in very good condition.

They do sell the lil red express/ warlock seat covers still. There are multiple places that sell them when you google “lil red express seat covers”. Not sure if that’s what your looking for.
