Chrysler decal

Post by fireguyfire »

Getting ready to paint the cab on my 70 D100.
The original A pillar decal is there and in good shape.
Would you guys suggest masking off and painting around the decal, which might lead to a paint ridge around the decal, or can I get a new decal made so I can remove the original and replace it after painting?

Are you talking about the Chrysler emblem on the right side only Fender? I've wondered why they only put this on the right side.

To answer the questions about the single Pentstar fender badge, it was placed low on the passenger side so that when the car was parked it would be seen by people walking.
Right hand drive vehicles (ie Australia) had the badge on the left fender.

The decal I’m talking about is inside the drivers door jam , at the front of the door; looks like a manufacture number decal and I’m guessing I can’t get another one, so I’m thinking I’ll have to mask over it when I paint as I doubt I can get a reproduction decal with the same number on it.

I don't think my '68 D-100 had one... that is why I was curious to know what decal you were talking about.
