Hood
The hood on my 69 sticks up about an inch near the windshield? Is it caused by the hood hinges? Is there something that can be done to get hood down? A second question. Does anyone know of any generic baby moon hubcaps that will fit a dodge wheel? Thanks

Your hinges are probably worn at pivots. Shimming may help depending on wear.
Baby moons. You need to know what rim center diameter for hubcaps to fit.
My truck is younger than me.

Re: Hood
None of the adjustments shown address the root cause of the problem. In other words, they are temporary "BandAid"s to the real issue. The cause is as Kim mentioned, worn pivots. The original hinge design was good but there is not enough surface area in the pivot locations so they wear out as they were likely never intended to last this long.

Re: Hood
The SHIMS at the front of the hinge (D) as shown in my picture are found in the Factory Service Manual. However, the hinges are most likely worn, but adding shims is the Factory adjustment for the hoods that don't fit in the back...

Re: Hood
The factory shims are often found on trucks. There is a limit to how many can be stacked to achieve the proper adjustment. If the pivots are worn beyond that point of max adjustment, more shims will just cause the hood to bend at the hinge.

Re: Hood
I've seen pictures of hinges with shims that were about an inch thick. I don't think that is what DODGE had in mind though . At that point another hinge is probably needed.PwrWgnDrvr wrote: ↑Wed Mar 07, 2018 11:44 amThe factory shims are often found on trucks. Yup, right around an inch is the max. Been there, but have forgotten the specific amount.
