'66 body tag decoder

Post by IdahoDirtFarmer »

New guy here. Recently picked up my first old sweptline out of the middle of the forest. Looked all over online and can't seem to find a decoder for the entire body tag. All I could find was a VIN decoder. Can anyone point me in the right direction? It's a '66 shortbed utiline. I hope I'm using the right terms there. Thanks in advance!!!

http://www.sweptline.com/hist/vininfo.html

The rest of the tag is mostly self explanatory.

Thanks for the link. Most of it I've figured out just by Googling the numbers and seeing what pops up. I was hoping to find the original paint color, but from the sounds of it, that info. isn't on the tag. Only one I've not found anything on is in the lower right hand corner it has RADIO SUP. Is that just a code that it had a radio or could it be that it had something extra from the factory like it could have been a government vehicle?

That means "radio suppression" for factory installed components to stop RF interference from the ignition and charging system. Basically, simple stuff so the AM radio works better.

would be nice if this link could be more easily found from the board index, like a sticky on other forums.
not complaining, just wondering.

It is a different site, sweptline.org vs. sweptline.com. I don't have that kind of power either.
