HI gang,
What year did the sweptline tailgate gain a size wider? 1966? My tailgate suffered a telephone pole dropping on it and I don't think it's repairable. But the part of the tailgate with the name Fargo is still good so I was thinking of grafting that portion into a used decent shaped Dodge tailgate. Does anyone know the different width demensions? And a decent restorable tailgate they would be willing to sell in the Walnut Creek area?

Sweptline box gates are 61-early 65 (round tail lights) and 65-71 (oval tail lights). I have them but not in Walnut Creek area.

Technically, 71 is different in that it is blank, w/o the DODGE letters stamped in.

Yup. And the other question was did anyone have one to sell in the Walnut Creek Area.

Speaking of which....what is the width of a 61-68 sweptline tailgate?

61 to 68 are 2 different generations. 61 to early 65 or late 65 to 71 for the wide box's . Not including the uteline tailgate. Those are all the same width for those years.

The late 65-71 are 66.25" wide.
