Short bed swap help

Post by Tiperoo »

Hello everyone...Does a short bed sweptline box bolt right onto a 1965 short box uteline frame? Are all 61-71 short boxes all the same(the boxes themselves)..I am looking at a 65 sb uteline truck and would like to replace the ute box with a sweptline box...I realize the taillights and tailgates differ but is that it? Also does anyone know where to get a sb sweptline box? Thanks for looking and the help..

Welcome to the site. :welcome The wide box will bolt up to your frame.... however... you
might need to extend the tails of the frame by a few inches. In mid '65, the wide box changed
to a double wall construction and oval tail light lenses. Either variation will bolt to your frame
pretty easily. As far as finding a suitable candidate.... put an ad in the Parts Wanted section
and hit up a few of your local bone yards. :2cents :idea :usa
