8 track player

Post by Creepjohnny »

Does anyone have any pictures or info if these trucks had an 8 track player option? Factory? Dealer installed? Or period correct aftermarket brands? I'm thinking if it looks good then why not!? Only issue I may have is the AC vents under the dash.
Any insight?!
Thanks guys!

I was looking through brochures for 1968,1970,1971 Dodge trucks. '68 shows transistor radio as optional equipment. 70/71 don't bother to list as either option or std equipment but radio appears in photos. Looks to be only AM.

I don't think 8-track came along til Lifestyle era, if then (in trucks).

I'd check on a van website. Those guys are all about audio options.

Looked thru those brochures. Thank U for those! And searched more online. Nothing on factory truck 8 tracks. Guess they were all after markets.

I'm guessing the "door" is where the needle & numbers are.

Looks great! Do u have one of those 8 track/cassette adapters?
I have the Ac/radio faceplate. So it won't install that easy. I know I can just do a bkuetooth set up but I have some old 8 tracks I'd love to rock In the truck! Can't beat Duane eddy in a pick em up!

Thanks gman! My neighbor is an electronics wiz, I asked him if he could have a look at a unit and he was excited to work on something so simple again.
